Kaya Croatia @ Zagreb Croatia

On behalf of the Western Australian Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Indigenous Arts Foundation the Kaya Croatia tour commenced in Zagreb on August 16th 2024.

Kaya Croatia

Don Markusic, lawyer based in Zagreb - welcomed the Kaya Dancers to Croatia, then onto the Družba Braća Hrvatskoga Zmaja with Goran Pavič, distinguished guests and the Australian Ambassador to Croatia, Hon Richard Rodgers.

Fantastic engagement in Zagreb and the ability for participants to  share cultural experience.

Ambassador Rodgers welcomed at his residence the Australian First Nations KAYA DANCERS to Croatia. The guests at the reception were treated by a very special performance, bringing the Australian First Nations and Croatian cultures closer.

Later in the evening the famous Zagreb Fountains displayed the Aboriginal Flag for the first time. Our performers from the Indigenous Arts Foundation in Perth enjoyed shadow performing behind the fountain. It was a magnificent sight. The Embassy wished them a wonderful time in Croatia and for their performances in Split.

It was with great honour that Ambassador Rodgers accepted a token of the group’s appreciation for supporting their KAYA CROATIA trip. Kaya Dancers offered the didgeridoo used for the tour as a gift for sharing their rich heritage and culture during their stay in Croatia.

International Festival held in Split August 19th - 25th.
